Impressed by the range of members’ goods and services on display, Jenny made guests smile with her opening comments, professing to have hoped to be invited to speak to AWIBC for nearly two years, such is the demand to appear in front of such an influential group! For any members expecting a talk about yet another fanciful profession, the evening was fun, thought-provoking and an incredibly interesting eye-opener.

Jenny explained that, as a Life Coach, she believes each client has enormous potential and is able to help individuals maximise their capabilities. Coaching can measurably enhance a clients present and future life. Jenny demonstrated, with a simple chart, the ‘wheel of life’ and the importance of an individual recognising where a he or she is now, whether domestically or in business, so that they can aspire to where they want to be in the future.

Members related to Jenny’s observation that, as very busy women, most members are working IN their business and are not giving enough time to working ON their business. This can bring frustration and disappointment as goals are not met and ambitions not realised.

As a simple demonstration, Jenny asked all members to set themselves a realistic goal for three month’s ahead. Being realistic about what can be achieved if success is to follow is important. Jenny pointed out that statistics show a person is 80% more likely to achieve a goal if it is written down and even more likely, if also discussed with another person.

Identifying what support is already available and equally, what might hamper achieving goals, is an important step at the beginning. Many people do not follow through making their goals happen because they are fearful of failing and find it easier not to start. Jenny explained that most fear is unfounded, using the expression that FEAR is ‘False Evidence Appearing Real’.

Most members were inspired and many will at least begin to work towards achieving their personal goals. Those that seriously want to reach their full potential will be ringing Jenny to take her on as their Life Coach.
